I only play this game with friends and we have a lot of trouble sticking together (mostly because of player pirates interdicting).it would be a way better experience for non-solo players if we could get a system where you lock into formation with squad mates (a flying "v" or something) and the leader could set destinations. It would only be used in super cruise.
Put a formation mode in!!!

You know - I can really see the Red Arrows or Blue Angels all getting into position, and their wing leader saying "Engage Formation Lock!" and they all fall asleep for 20 minutes while AI does their routine for them.

That's the thing we are not flying together if you have a team of jets and a enemy jet engages one they all engage. Not just one then the rest wait for clearance to engage. That's what happens right now you have to locate the instance,turn around, slow to a good speed, then hope that you don't over shoot to but and either not get in the instance or be so far away you watch your wing man get sucked out of his cockpit in to the horrible vacuum of space!
