Putting in the Fiction into the Science Fiction.

Hi all,

To me I am finding the game to be a little lifeless with little to spark my imagination as I fly through one lifeless procedurally generated system after another.

My suggestion is that we put in some proper science fiction into the game to generate some intrigue and excitement.

By this I mean we have the following:

Massive space dwelling alien creatures feeding on nebula or rocks for us to scan or shoot up.
Old derelict alien hulks from a long gone and mysterious race just silently drifting through space.
Relics of forgotten civilisations such as partially built ringworlds or dyson spheres

What do you guys think?

Sounds like your imagination was sparked fine. I mean you're in a cockpit flying in an awesome creation of our galaxy. What you want are more graphical assets that are easy to find.

Space is big. WAY bigger than our brains can handle. So think about that Voyager 2 probe that is in the game. What are the odds that you would ever find than randomly flying and exploring? For me, I can safely say never. I would never have found that.

Some of the explorers who came back from the other side of the Galaxy saw large areas that were blocked off...who knows?

I do think the capitol systems could use a little special polish to make them stand out as unique for sure.

Can't wait to see what we get in the future.

I think what I am trying to say is that for me, one planet is pretty much the same as another. It doesn't excite me to know if a planet is a high metal one or has more than average water.

I want to discover truly spectactular sights such as a massive derelict space station built by who knows.

As we haven't visited another star system in reality we don't know if the universe is littered with old civs on planets, long since gone after a galactic death/war/etc... So why not fill elite's universe with interesting things that are not just planets.
