Putting The Pieces of The Alien Ship Back Together (Visually)

Commander Hawkins has put up a beautiful video of the pieces of the crashed alien ship on youtube which can be viewed here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxINevwnAMY

One of the comments made about it was asking if anyone could put the pieces together to see what it would look like.

I think it's a great suggestion considering that someone took a noise, ran it through a spectrum analyzer and got a picture, and someone else looked at the scrambled noise on an interview video and found a binary code with a clue in it.

I was wondering if anyone with a CAD program wanted to give that a try. I have no idea how you would get the pieces into CAD in the first place but there are a lot of people in this community that have a lot more expertise in these things than I ever will.

we've attempted to do this on the Canonn forum (and on Reddit) using cut-outs from screenshots.

To put it into a cad/3d program would require things that are frowned upon by Frontier and players alike. So, no.

anyway.. I think I'd rather have my first view of the working ship when it rips me from witchspace and circles my ship :)

Understood. It was a tantalizing thought, anyway.

On another note: Did it crash or was it shot down? If shot down, by whom? Ah, for the answers to these and other fascinating questions, October can't come soon enough.

Why? Unless you're pulling assets out of the game files, which isn't what is being suggested, why one Earth would Frontier and players be annoyed by it?

He's saying that getting the ship into a 3D program would require pulling the asset out of the game files.

Then Niamhy doesn't know what she's talking about. We've already seen people make a point-cloud of the crash site with a relatively low amount of screenshots AND pull the scene into Maya.

Segmenting that into individual 3D pieces that you can manipulate to see how it fits isn't that big of a step from there.

well then, if the person who did that posts the maya project file, we can cut it up and reassemble it. I'd still rather wait though. also, doing a topical Ladar pass won't get you the stuff UNDER the ship. and since it's upside down, the stuff under it is kind of important. Oh, and I do know what I'm talking about :p

i dont think the barnies or this crashed ship are even thargoid.....

i know i wouldnt be scared of ships that look like bio dung lol.....some nice giger style in places.....but i reckon thats a ship that was a living entity....a mother barnie

i reckon it was there to excrete a barnie into the planet..or to land on a barnie and suck out the alloys or whatever its after inside .....but it got rumbled by something....something more powerfull....like the thargoids.

Personally I think the ship's 'dish' would be horizontal and the other parts, the 'legs' if you will would be vertical, hanging down from the sides of the dish - something we cant really show with the flat pictures but hopefully I described it well enough. So, the ship would be taller than it is across - bit like a flying spider with droopy long legs :)

Or it could just be an alien probe, crashed while surveying the mother ship will come look for it and we get our first look at whatever created it?
