Ships PvE Multipurpose Krait Mk.2

Wanted to create a ship which is prepared for most situations without the need to change modules too often and survive long enough to get out if things become too dangerous.

Opinions?

This is very similar to my multipurpose "daily driver" Chieftain build.

There's certainly room for personal preference on these kind of ships, but I would suggest you consider the following changes:

First, add some module reinforcement, even if it means you have to ditch the hull reinforcement. Nothing ruins your day like losing your power distributor or having your canopy blown out while still being at 40% or more hull.

Secondly, I tend to engineer my biweaves as Thermal Resistant and then stack resistances. I value thermal resistance above kinetic on my shields because I feel like I'm nimble enough that I can dodge kinetic and missile weapons more easily than lasers, especially since I'm also running chaff. Keeping the absolute value lower and resistances higher is good on biweaves because they recharge based on their absolute value, so you're getting more bang for your buck with the faster recharge. If you look at our builds side by side, our shield values against thermal attacks are similar (1612 for you vs 1393 for me) but my recovery and recharge times are about half of what yours are, so as long I as I can keep a pip or two into SYS, my shields are going to be functionally much better than they appear on paper.

Of course, this shielding strategy leaves me more vulnerable to kinetic and explosive attacks as well, and if you enjoy ramming your opponents it is better to keep your absolute shield value up. In the end it just depends on your combat style, but hopefully I gave you something to think about.

Overall, I really like do-it-all builds like this. The ship really starts to feel like home when you do a bunch of different activities in the same build. Star Wars wouldn't have been as fun if Han Solo swapped out to a different one of his ships every time he needed to do anything ("Oh, we're attacking the Death Star? I have to run and go drop off the Millennium Falcon and pick-up my combat-focused ship, the Centennial Goshawk!")

I run my Krait as an armed trader/mats gatherer. Looking at it on Coriolis makes me realise there's some more optimisation to do, but it hasn't let me down yet.

This is mine. Still on all MC build as I am in process of unlocking Broo Tarquin for the beam lasers. Totally agree on the Falcon. I hate the wholesale module swapping idea.
