Newcomer / Intro PVE Piloting Help, what exactly is my ship doing please

what is your opinion of the clipper regarding what you said? and in general, for PVE (not thargoid content, not yet anyway)?
Without engineering, it's pretty useless these days. A Vulture is just about the only unengineered ship that can handle one-on-one fights with most NPCs. A hull-tank FAS can also do well, but you have to keep running back for repairs.

so i finally finished grinding up 10k merits was my goal, so i could get the big pay out from my power play doing bounty hunting, that's the main thing i did back when i played before. i went to a hazardous rez and was totally surprised how bad i was doing. the power play npc's were better than the bounty hunting NPC's used to be, and the haz-res NPC's were pretty good. fought a wing of 3 eagles, which i was expecting to take about 1 minute, and it took awhile and i nearly lost my shields.

but i have bad memories of NPC's so I guess it's a good thing. I remember NPC's just sitting there rotating in space, like they gave up
Yes, happy days. I can remember getting my first billion blasting NPCs in the Haz RES at 10 million an hour with the level 5 PP bonus. That's not rally worth it these days. If combat is your thing, CZs with massacre missions will get you more money, but I wouldn't recommend that without sorting out engineering first. It's also got a lot tougher since they introduced the special ops ships.

You get 10 times a s much money now doing either mining or sightseeing missions form Robigo.

i never got up to a billion, only like 200 million, doing like you, power play farming, then bounty hunting farming. somewhere in there i started grinding towards a cutter, just stacking up planetary missions where you'd board flip to get a bunch of missions, then fly around the planet, blow up a base, then hand back in, doing it over and over. got close, then one week missed rank 5 in power play (back then undermining meant interdicting npc's for 40 million hours a week, i've learned alot this past week), and i basically quit playing grinded too hard.

i played for a few weeks a year since then, enough to get a decent bit of engineering one year, then came back around when void opals came out and got my net worth to 500 million. now void opals seem to worth nothing, they used to be 16 million i think. but i didn't want to mine so i'm trying to bounty hunt. 10 million an hour - i'm not up there, can't handle the wings very well yet. last night i beat an anaconda with 2 smaller ships (cobras or vipers or something), and that was like 10 minutes of my life that was pretty nerve wracking lol, barely lived. i think with power play double bounty i get like 600k... sigh

inara is down and coriolis won't produce a link shortener
