Ship Builds & Load Outs PVE/Pirate Clipper

Hello guys!

Is it possible to make the clipper a good PVE or Pirate ship?

Last time I tried conflict zones I thought the shields where terribly weak...

Thing is I don't like shield cell banks too much... It adds too much complexity for me and I just want to have fun :D

Is hull tanking viable with this ship?
 
The Clipper is a fairly large ship so it's a fairly easy target, it can have decent shields (reinforced + 3 x heavy duty boosters 1259 MJ) but because of it's size it'll get hit more than an FDL for example so the "decent shields" won't last as long as expected, if you want to try hull tanking as a mix of HRP's and MRP's to beef up the hull and provide some module protection but the most important thing with these builds is knowing when to leave!;)

Have a look at the defence tabs in Coriolis the Prismatic shield will hold about 30 seconds longer but the rebuild and regen times are huge compared to the bi-weaves, on top of that the power drain of the Prismatics is huge and will seriously limit weapon choice and probably thruster engineering as well.
 
I'm now wondering what would be the best upgrade for pulse laser with the bi weave outfit?
I went for overcharged but the power drain from the power distributor is really too much :/

Of course it is. Thermal weapons are high cap drain, overcharge exacerbates that, and the iClipper isn't a ship with particularly notable firepower.

Run with either efficient (closer range) or long range (shouldn't need to explain the range) unless you know why you would need focused or something.
 
The Python is probably the only medium ship that can run high damage energy weapons (class 7 power plant and PD) although heat can be an issue, possibly the FGS although it's class 6 power plant can struggle running seven weapon hardpoints, the big 3 have enough power and PD for most weapon loadouts and enough spare utilities for heatsinks.

Try some medium turrets although the DPS is lower than fixed/gimbaled it removes the Clipper convergence issues and can help with small agile targets.
 
So went for rank 4 long range in my 2 medium pulse lasers and rank 4 efficient in my 2 large pulse lasers and it works like a charm :)
