Pvp - let people respond before attacking

I do not mind pvp but would commanders please give us slow to type people a chance to respond to your threat before attacking.
I had just set course for a station and then noticed that someone sent me a message and by the time I read it and clicked to type the first character to respond I got interdicted and destroyed before I even picked up the controller again.
Could you please, if you are wanting to do pvp wait for a response before attacking especially since all you said was "leave this system" and I was trying to respond with "what system do you suggest I go to?", in order to get a dialogue going .Waiting such a short time is unreasonable as it doesn't give the player the time to select a new destination, never mind wait for the engine to spool up again. If you had scanned me you would have noticed that I didn't have weapons and was harmless, didn't have a bounty but did have a damaged ship and needed to go somewhere for repairs. I was carrying precious cargo so could have given you some if you let me pass.
I do not see the attraction people have in attacking defenceless craft. It is a bit like those kids that squash ants, there is only ever going to be one winner, its not a contest.

I've requested Parlay for defendants too many times. Who really wants to lose weeks of work by not being able to communicate first to decide if you both want to commit to a fight, handover goods, or you decide to run away. It's just a pointless role in the paid game Murder griefing. Fix this FD and get us trustworthy Player Passengers (not your AI Passenger Missions).
Then rid this Private Group idea.

This is actually the best feature you could ever add. In effect, fixing the game.

I think this is probably a tactic the gankers use now. Send a message to distract you and while you're fumbling for the board to respond Twack 'Interdiction time'

I had it a short while back as I was returning with a lorry load of expo data to Lembava. An Orca(!) came after my suicidally equipped no shields or guns Lakonback. Just managed to scrape away.

Cowards, every single one of them. They only pick on the weak, never a fully loaded war Python or Anaconda. Teaming up in wings is your only safe solution until you can afford a bigger more deadly ship and then they will leave you alone.

If anyone sends you a message implying that they intend on attacking you, you could just simply jump to another system, or kill the FSD with the emergency disengage (double press the FSD/Supercruise command).

The type and number of response the OP gets to this post will probably be an indication of the numbers and types of ganker/griefers that predate the open pvp IMHO...

Well, even NPCs say "I have you now" during Interdiction so you do know if its a Pirate or Police stop.
Get that added before you can engage in PvP.

How would this help? You couldn't force people to accept "Parlay". If people are going to kill you before you respond to a threat, they are probably going to kill you whether you request "Parlay" or not - in fact they'd probably just see it as a delaying tactic and might just murder you BECAUSE you asked for parlay.

I dont get it why you want to talk to someone who will attack you.

If it bothers you it helps to play solo. Otherwise just fight back and in best case kill them.

Not all, but a significant portion. I've had the pleasure of being attacked by CMDRs in inferior ships before, and one of them even fought to the "death".

But yeah, flying a Python does seem to keep most of them at bay.

It will work like an invincibility until an attacker offers Parlay -then its up to the defendant to play or not. Nothing is lost. This would ONLY work if the defendant is CLEAN in the system. It would not be there in any Anarchy system at all.
It is to give both parties an agreement to fight or not, or make an offer in goods, or run away if they can and even then try hitting Combat Log if they feel totally bullied.
That is PvP not Bully vs Helpless little defenceless ship with little experience.
Study combat, martial arts, wars and you will understand it is only worth it if its a fair enough fight.

You mean a "get-out-of-PvP-free" card? It will never happen, it is totally against the design ethos of the game. If you don't like PvP, there is Open (I know, I know, but it has to be said), or you can learn how to run away and treat every encounter with a Cmdr with wary caution.
