PvP Pvp mouse vs flight stick

OP you are aware that it is PvP, as in Player v Player not CM v CM (control method v control method) aren't you?

If you are having problems defeating meta FDl's then I suggest you figure out how to beat meta FDL's rather than blaming the tools you use to do it with.

The thing with meta anything (and this applied to 100% of all the PvP games I've played over the decades) is that they are meta for a very specific reason. Once you find out how to stop the meta from messing with you you will take apart meta fits all day long and the tears will flow from the meta l33t people as they won't be able to figure out how you beat them. :D

I played Elite for about 1000 hours now. Almost all of the time with HOTAS. I never managed to get a reasonably good plasma aim. Then i switched to mouse, and guess what? In a few days flying FAoff with mouse, i can shoot eagles with my plasmas. And i can snipe modules with my rails, which was impossible for me before.
Nobody can tell me a Joystick is no disadvantage unless you fly gimballed only.

Hellfire is right; a HOTAS can absolutely be used for high level PVP with a caveat: it needs to be decent equipment. I handicapped myself for years using a Tflight X, which was in no way accurate enough to compete with kb+m. The newer T.16000 with proper curves set up (you need much less sensitivity in the almost centered position on all axis) narrows that gap considerably, especially since the analog thruster stick on top of the throttle actually gives you better, more granular thruster inputs than what's possible with the "on/off" digital inputs on the keyboard. Dual joystick users know what I'm talking about.

For topical examples, the videos on my YouTube channel were all done using a HOTAS, with the newest ones (August 2018 on) using the upgraded stick and throttle.
