[PvP Vid] Three pirates interdict an Adle’s Armada mining vessel and start the shooting 3v1 (... but who will finish it?)

The Adle’s Armada Coalition are currently participating in the Naunin mining Community Goal as part of the Rise to Power wildcard event, see:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=258828

Cmdr Erich Zann re-outfitted his ship for mining (although not shown in the video, the vessel is fitted with mining laser, cargo racks, collector limpets and prospector) and has been contributing determinedly to the Adle’s Armada effort, while doing his mining in Open.

However, in the incident shown, Erich’s peaceful mining is interrupted by interdiction by three PvP pirates (Elite Imperial Cutter, Elite FdL, FdL) – who start shooting immediately.

Separated from his wing mates, Erich deploys his … other … hard points and prepares to defend his gold and his life.

The odds seem impossible … and yet … hee hee ...

(1) Erich is a two-time PvP League finalist;

(2) His chosen mining vessel is an Adle’s Armada ‘Fires of Justice’-class Corvette dreadnaught;

(3) The new AI ain’t all bad, when you are alone and in the right.

Karma vid follows … enjoy!

Neat vid..

..but "Corvette Dreadnought" is why I'm here.

I just found it kind of odd to mix two different ship classifications into the name there. Where Corvette usually refers to a small warship, often used for patrol and interdiction (open seas reference, not space) while a Dreadnought is much larger on the same scale and meant for all out war rather than harassing and patrol actions.

Unless he names it "The Dreadnought" after your own arbitrary classing system.

Even the Fed/Imp "Capital" ships, by size, are really only in the 'Frigate' or 'Destroyer' category. Maaaaaybe light Cruiser if you stretch it a little.

It would be kinda neat if you could turn your limpets into suicide attack drones that could commit decent kamikaze damage on the opposing player...

Before I started flying with AA about a year ago, I was well-used to trying to get a PvP kill off an enemy wing, 1vWhatever, before I skedaddled.

I've recently left AA (on the very best of o7 terms) and what interests me now is ... do you necessarily still need a wing?

I mean, seriously, if you're at the CG system and keep clean and take it careful - be really clear about who you're firing on in the enemy wing - letting them get that tag etc etc - could you beat the gank, with the new AI on your side?

The video does suggest so. When do you ever see a Cutter jumping with collapsed shields? That's not to suggest that Commander ErichZann didn't just out fly the pirates. Because he did, but traders may have a viable new tactic. Stay alive long enough for the Calvary to arrive, rather than just booking. Especially in the case of a failed Interdiction, and the resultant FSD cooldown.

This gives further evidence that system security and crime and punishment in general is becoming competent.

It shows that system authority response may have become competent. That is removed from 'Crime & Punishment, in that no new changes to the bounty system, nor the penalties for crimes have changed from 2.0, or before for that matter.

The mechanical system response time and force are consistently better than pre 2.1/1.6. I would know since I'm the first to publish a study on the matter during beta.

Crime and punishment involves all aspect of criminality and its interaction with legitimized police force of a designated society or civilization. To narrow its definition to the bounty system's particular features that are unchanged is a convenient argument.

What is changed is the response time and force when a clean ship is fired upon in a secured system, which involves the bounty system for that firing upon a clean ship in a secured system triggers bounty. Hence making it relevant and a part of the crime and punishment system.

We need risk/reward now.

Very true, the danger in Anarchy system along with its reward to operate within said system need increase in profit. The danger is already made apparent, the profit on the other hand can see to some increase, unless someone has a study on the economy they'd like to share that proves otherwise.

Don't try and go all legalese on me. I merely said that the response was better, but nothing else has changed in the C&P equation. So I feel that mentioning what aspect of the complete system has been affected is perfectly valid. It's all part of the same whole, and it's completely valid to break down the components.

Then you might want to use your diction more carefully:

It shows that system authority response may have become competent. That is removed from 'Crime & Punishment, in that no new changes to the bounty system, nor the penalties for crimes have changed from 2.0, or before for that matter.

The first sentence is suggestive, so nothing to point out there.

"Removed" is an absolute exclusion.

"No new changes" is also an absolute assertion.

"nor the penalties for crimes have changed from 2.0." is also an absolute assertion.

Which is why I pointed out:

So no, system security response time is not "removed" from crime and punishment.

There are changes to the bounty system.

There are changes to the penalties for crimes that changed from 2.0.

Don't complain when you use loose diction to express things you don't mean to convey then try to correct it by saying something else that is different from your original statement. State that you wish to clarify your intention, don't complain about the interpreter when he or she only uses logic to dissect your statements.

Legalese. Just as I figured. Let's not derail another thread with your "Wordnados". Let's go back to congratulating Commander ErichZann on his glorious defeat of those pirates, before you have to start redefining more of the language.

Lol, self quoting...

Cool vid!

It makes sense to call the corvette a "dreadnought" since it's the scariest ship (and miner) in Elite.
