[PvP Video] Elite: Dangerous Frog Hunting - Outnumbered PvP!

How is it that you lasted so much longer than everyone else? The majority of ships were silent just like you. You would think that with their superior numbers, they would of been able to focus fire you effectively. It's not like they were bad pilots. So, what am I missing here?

easier said than done. Whenever he is silent running only the CMdr he is shooting at would be able to target him, the rest will be confused and actively looking for him (visual only). Bottom line, if it is only 1 player vs 4 it is easier to find him and kill him, however, if another wing jumps in is going add more confusion than actually help.

My wing of 3 decide to hunt the Diamond Frogs in their home system 63 G. Capricorni.

I'm the first to arrive and find myself interdicted instantaneously by two wings...

that guy was really lucky to jump with 1%. I never get lucky like that usually I lose my FSD before anything else. Good fight Z4 you were holding down all by yourself, it is always fun flying with you.

It should have been easy to spot him, he's the only guy that uses that build (and last time I was in a similar situation with him I found it easy to spot him from his multicannon trail) ;-) Mr Mafia is a great pilot but I found it hard to understand why they were getting so few hits in with those rails. Still it was nice to watch, particularly after all that egregious terrorism the frogs have been attempting to do to our stations.

Fun video to watch there. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the video Brett.

Lots of "oh, that just happened" moments.

This is part of what keeps me coming back to play Elite: Dangerous. You never know when that next moment will happen.

Unfortunately, there are far too many games that become predictable when it comes to this. Thankfully, Elite: Dangerous has always been the exception.

I look forward to many more years of adrenaline, hilarity, and undisputed fun!

I've never actually seen myself fly my silent FDL from an opposing point of view. It would be interesting to see.

I seen myself whenever we fight Kinmob and company. I go back and look at his stream to learn from my mistakes. it is really cool felt like a ninja the other day, especially if you stop firing for a few minutes and come back once again.

I'll have to do the same at some point. Observing my flying style from the outside will give me a wealth of information.

No doubt, are you login in tonight? AA will be fighting SDC and the Code and ask TOC if we want to join their ranks.

Very Very fun night. After being put on their KOS list for killing their intern ED Lewis I decided to rustle some jimmies and as they tried the whole night they did not get their kill. As you can see from the video they did get really close. Cheers to the Diamond Frogs for coming out for the fight and flying in open so we all can have some fun.

Bro, this is the first I seen you posting on the forums. where have you been?

While I don't deny SR takes great skill & z4 is a great exponent..I'm not a fan of these sorts of PvP just like Crimson Kaim argues (although I noticed he used the technique in his 1v1 fights :D). I would like it to work for a surprise attack, but not for the whole fight! It just gets tedious.
.
I've just fought 3 Vultures in a RES in my DBS with hit & run tactics only (not my usual method but had no choice when the other 2 Vultures appeared from nowhere) - now that is PvP!
.
I killed the guy who stole my Gunship bounty! (he was also an enemy power) after firing one shot at him first to let him know it was game on with a head 2 head start - & then made a successful getaway - if I hadn't hit 2 roids (losing 40 odd % hull - schoolboy error :p) while FAOFF boosting, I would have turned my attention to the others.
.
I'm not a 'nerf this / buff that' kind of dude so let's say..I hope FD reinvent SR!

Agreed. It was a very memorable night!

Don't forget to polish Silk shoes before you go.

LOL!

What's so much fun about running silent when using my FDL build, is that it allows for 4 pips to engines making for maximum maneuverability. I vastly prefer this flight model over one that involves 4 pips to shields and essentially turns your ship into an immobile cannon. After flying with 4 pips to shields for well over a year, the drastic change is extremely refreshing.

As far as having to fight other silent runners, I thoroughly enjoy the extra challenge involved in the inability to rely solely on your radar, which puts your eyes to use, spotting enemies.

That sounds like a really fun encounter! It will be interesting to see what the future holds and what the next meta shift will look like.
