[PvP Video] INSANE 2v1 dogfight!

I interdicted a wing of Prismatic Shielded Fer-de-Lance's and a great 2v1 battle commenced.

Respect to everyone involved for a great dogfight!

Does anyone else have any stories of great PvP battles?

Great job on staying composed while under so much pressure! I remember a similar encounter. However, it didn't end with me as the victor... Kudos!!!

SCB's? Hmm. Posting victory video's while using SCB's is a bit like telling everybody how you swam the channel wearing water wings and a life jacket.

May have to go get myself a FDL again... not that im anywhere near that good- could never handle skipping between PIP management, FAO, SR and then fighting...

Not in 2.0 ;)

Glad to see you've adapted and thrived to the changes to SCBs mafia! Masterful flying. Particularly impressive was your aiming without sights or reticule using kinetic weaponry.

It's comments like this that get me thinking back to my first PvP encounter.

A good friend of mine got ganked by this Commander Asp with a 900k bounty on his head. So in a quest for revenge, I searched the surrounding systems in my Viper. I found him soon enough and a very intense dogfight ensued. I literally felt my heart pounding a thousand times per second during the encounter and couldn't help yelling "I GOT HIM!" after I had won.

I've been playing since July 2014 and have had countless PvP battles since that moment. It really is interesting to think about the conditioning that takes place over time that allows you to stay focused and at your best under the most stressful situations.

This adrenaline rush is only going to increase with the release of Consumer VR in only a few months time and I can't wait!

Great flying, very impressive that you were able to route them both.

Notice you're only using kinetics, and so are they AFAICT. I don't really PvP, so I'm just curious about why? Wouldn't it be much easier to take down their shields if you had a couple thermic weapons in addition to the MCs?

nice gimballed weapons.

I can tell your opponents in the video are not experienced in pvp since they do not have 4 pips to shields.

Mafia's strategy typically revolves around tanking huge amounts of damage through using constant 4 pips to shield. As such, he rarely has enough pips available to run thermic weapons. MCs, while low damage against shields, are incredibly efficient, synergising with his attrition-focused strategy

He faced opponents with chaff and still came out on top, arguably requiring much more skill than simply running fixed

4 pips to shield is not mandatory for success: it is merely a strategy

Very cool headed battle. That first guy gave you a run for your money and hung in there for quite some time evening out the combat between the two of you. You bested him, which was impressive. I am not all into the PvP aspect of the game, but the second guy seemed to be playing it a bit safe. Although he could have done without that last comment before leaving... showmanship has no place when you are on the run.

Nevertheless, I give respect to everyone in that battle though as PvP definitely requires a cool-head and calm nerves to overcome the adrenaline. As I mentioned in previous posts regarding open v. groups/solo, my work/career is all PvP, so being that I get enough day in day out while clocked in and really never get to clock out due to what I do for a living I am more of a care bear, "kill the NPC", type of player when it comes to my video games. Any time I need to push my edge, I take my car to the track. There is some real adrenaline for you forcing through the first turn of the kink to push into the apex hard and late only to hammer out early and fast to get speeds fast enough on the backstraight to hit 165mph within well less than a quarter mile before the corkscrew turn... and in the rain.

Awesome job brother! Very impressive!

I have the same opinion about using armour on our current day tanks.
Real men don't use armour.
They fight in bearskins, in the mud, with clubs....

As usually awesome vid. I really love it at the end when you are almost out of ammo and armor and the guy high waked anyway.

I certainly didn't expect him to leave so soon. I was prepared to fight to the death.

I assumed the second cmdr in typing "no muni" meant no 'munitions, ie ammunition.

That makes sense. I was close to being out of ammo myself. Good thing I had enough shields and armor to soak up all the damage and ammo both FDL's could throw at me.
