So I play my lonely-single player stuff in the open. ( as I have no friends.....they take up too much of my lonely grumpy space-man-time)
But when I look at my radar and see an empty square box of a fellow player, which then slaps on an interdiction that refuses to go my way, even when I'm in the blue (how do they do that?)
Well, I submit and just boost away
(if only people kept their gunports closed to o7 before they deploy hardpoints
)
Now I fly small, fast manoeuvrable ships, and I keep my mediumship builds light and manoeuvrable.
My anaconda - rarely makes it out alive.
My krait mk2 50/50
My adder, well 740ms in a boost
But I've noticed the past 18-months or so (probably longer)
Heat Meta
That I'm getting shut down by weapons that overheat my ship, so it can't jump or boost.
This is my main tactic, in my small fast ships.
If they get a good hit on me I then can't get out of range of the next volley, and then it's just open up the Lavian brandy and set off the self-destruct, which won't even have time to navigate to on the internals pannel, let alone, let it count down.
Ranged Meta
And in recent 9 months, I'm effectively out of scanner range, and I'm getting hit by a long-range beam weapon.
Is this a Player Execution meta?
I've only experienced these things ON me, because my ship tells me things like heat / corrosion.
But I do have limited experience, right?
It's not as if the game tell, you what weapons your mates are using on another ship.
And I don't hang out with the same commanders to see if they use those weapons primarily on online players, or it's their favoured build for NPC's as well.
This seam to be very specific weapons designed to stop other ships from escaping with FSD.
But it felt like corrosive, and extra damage, or faster/efficient weapons always seemed to be the "thing" for NPC's.
But it's frustrating when you hear they are charging their FSD and you just aren't killing them fast enough, and it would be lovely to just disable that.
So pray-tell, what is the secret sauce?
How do I build them myself?
I'm assuming fixed beam laser with long long range on them, which engineer, which modification, which experimental feature?
Where as the heat, seams to be with pulse, beam, gawd knows what else. I just see the shots flying past okay!!
Is there a defence?
Is there any point to building up heat-resistant shielding or heat, resistant armour for these attacks.
The heat-resilient armour could cope with laser, but does it allow the ship to cool down faster from an internal overheating (so every stealth-build would incorporate this, right?)
Do the heat-resistance shields resist the overheating venting weapons, from spill their heat onto your ships?
I'm asking for a "friend" who might have just put a target on his back from the griefers during recent forum interactions.
