Did any other CMDRs find it a bit unseemly watching the first-in "Elite" YouTubers race to attack Thargoids crazily barking, "for science", when the 'Goids may well have been going about their peaceful business in the galaxy, and humorously were also completely invulnerable to even 20-30min sustained attacks by wings of these "scientists"?

Nope - I was too busy running from my own thargoid!
I got attacked by one, while scooping up a damaged escape pod in it's vicinity. Seems a petty item to start a galactic war over. I acquiesced.
No, but I don't really get up in arms about 'roleplay' in Elite.

There is a theory, the Thargoid were currently meeting are the nice ones, that the other ones are hunting and they are picking up the escape pods to return them to us, apologising for there waring cousins who have been attacking humans.
Well it's one reason it might not all be quite so clear cut CMDR.

But these are aliens so im guessing their intentions might also be alien to us. What if its the opposite and they are saving the escape pods from the vacuum of space.
