Ships Python Armed Trader

Hello all, haven’t played for an age.

Any good in date Python Armed trader builds.
I have MCs, Drives and FSD engineered.

Not a combat build per-se, just good enough to swat pesky NPC interdictors.

Looks a bit like mine so I'd guess the turrets are real handy against small targets when fully laden, the Python does handle a bit sluggishly when fully loaded

Hello,

Like @Ceekay mentioned, with cargo fully loaded you can't avoid to have the pirate at your six. Thats where the turrets come in. Till i got him or her in front of me, the shields are weaker or even gone. That works also against Condas.
Additonally I use the 30% + ammo.
The 2 chaffs are a great Help.
Right now i'm practicing FA on/off, but that needs some more time to work out.
Off course 2 pips on weapons and 4 on system.

Edit: To get all weapons on the target the nose has to be a bit up.
Flying backwards, chaffing and strafing randomly in all directions is also part of my tactics.

Greetings,

I'm a beam player so another opinion. Being combat Elite any NPC that attacks me hauling cargo will typically be Deadly in an Anaconda, Type-10 or Fer de Lance. If I stack missions I might get two in the interdiction instance. Time to run away in my Python. Not so much in a Cutter.

Long range thermal vent beams can inflict damage, yes slowly, to an NPC and if you are more than 3km from them they won't put s dent in your paint. Flying with reverse thrusters can keep them on target and manage the range. Deadly NPCs use a lot of chaff and SCBs so ii is more about timing, deselecting the target then your weapons become fixed deleting chaff if you can hit the target with them.

I would suggest getting awesome with rail guns in a dedicated combat ship for the practice. I have an Imperial Eagle build that doesn't cost much.

Here is my Python cargo build. I have two others for passengers and mining.
Here is my Cutter cargo build. Use it wisely.

Use them together and they can they can get allied with all factions in a system pretty fast. Just another opinion

Regards

This is my workhorse. Fits like a glove. Can do all, ranging from 192t mission, surface missions, some passengers, material gathering, up to pirate lord removal missions. Kills those guys pretty quick.

Thanks mate.
yeah, I am expert so they are not too bad.
like the Rail gun ‘Training’ ship Idea.

Hello,

Don't expect much weaker opponents. I'm an 'Expert 17%' and 'Master' are the easy ones. Deadly in Condas are pretty common and sometimes you will see 'Elite'
And lately i had 4 'Deadly' within one Mission. Fight - Entering SC - interdiction - fight - not even time to clean up mats and recharge shields damn it the next one also 'Deadly' showes Up!
Great ;)

@Florenus
When the opponents were weaker i had a different outfit. But now, i use the 6c instead of the 5c. and my Python fits for almost anything, but i rebuild it for the different work.
For surface prospecting etc. there is my DBX. For passenger missions i buy the cabins and If i need the scoop or mining equipment i call it from storage.

Here is my armed trader, https://s.orbis.zone/du3s
It has enough shield to take out two pirates. I just go 402 for max shields and when done 240 for the boost out. Can fit a scoop for long distance trading. Replace cargo racks with passenger cabins and it makes a versatile and safe mission runner. Drop a HD booster for a heatsink for smuggling. If power play, fit the size four prismatic shield.

Nice one. On Python build, what's the main use of the Corrosion Rack as you only installed one? Have not been doing the Thargoids stuff but starting to look at this and would love to learn.

Trader build? All cargo racks, cold build, no shields, ADC and SCA, 2x PDT, 1x heat sink, 1x wake scanner
And win all interdictions. You dont really need to fight in a trader build and it's a wasted time anyways from the traders perspective.
That means something like this

Alternatively, you could unlock prismatics and tackle 1-2 pirates at a time (but only after you can engineer the shields and the shield bossters, else it has little point), but if you stack 10-15 supply delivery missions, you might get 3-4 pirates dropping in your instance if you submit to an interdiction. And again, fighting pirates is not an efficient way of doing supply delivery missions or trading.
A Python Prismatics trader build could look like this (fully engineered)

Yeah, you’re right, why bother fighting. I can always win the mini game. I understand the cold build but Why the ADC?

Why not? It's really useful to let it take off and raise the landing gear while you plot the next jump, then take over from it since there is no point to wait in launch queue
Then why not letting it land your ship while you stretch your legs or read the forums - you can always land manually if you think it's such a feat or if you're in a hurry, but you cant auto dock if you dont have it fitted :)

Wouldn’t say I am in a hurry, I like to fly it in myself, feat? Lol.
