Python - Bit of a BOBFOC.

Soooo, as much as I love flying this ship, it has come to my attention (through numerous screen-grabs), that it is most definitely a BOBFOC:-

For those unfamiliar with the acronym, BOBFOC stands for:-

Body Off Baywatch, Face Off Crimewatch.

Now, not all ships can look good from every angle, some are just plain old crazy from every angle (Vulture, I'm looking at you), but by golly, the snout on the Python just does not quit. Ever.

Any takers for the opposite (BOCFOB)? Picture proof will be mandatory.

NO PHOTOSHOPPING!

Well, I think the Empire Courier might fit into that category.

But as an engineer, I think of face being the entire outer surface of the ship.

Meaning that the ultimate BOCWFOBW would have to be the Imperial Clipper, which is just absolutely gorgeous, but reminds you of that really beautiful thin girl whose broken her bones multiple times, and then her legs didn't get set quite right. So she walks funny with a tiny little drag on her right foot.

I am speaking of course at why the big guns are on the farthest point on the outside. Bad place for hardpoints (in my opinion).

Fair point on the face of an object being the entire outer surface, however our ships most definitely have a front and rear aspect, based on engine location (rear) and cockpit/bridge alignment (front), which we can use to define orientation.

Hence, gorgeous when viewed from behind, but once that big old snout is in your face, opinions can change .

Humans see faces everywhere, it's a by-product of our brain development as infants. Look at the back of some cars, you'll find a face in most of them (two eyes/light clusters, a mouth/boot(trunk) line etc).

However, yes, my ship does appear to be grinning somewhat.

I had not noticed that, but now I can't un-see it!

As for the Python, still a mighty-fine all-rounder, despite having had her wings clipped, beats the Clipper for flexibility as it can do outposts, and can be configured to fulfil any role with aplomb. I'm on my way back to (un)civilised space in mine, and having a fuel-scoop on board that can fill at almost 900KG/s sure helps keep the time down per KLY, if simply jump/honk/scooping as I am.

Once I am back, a quick refit and it's off to my local Anarchy system for some hunting. Might try some mining after that........nah, maybe not. Too dirty.
