Python Hull upgrades

Hi all, can see in outfitting the max class for hull on a python is 8 - however when checking to upgrade I always get the item not available blah.

I seem to remember putting a military upgrade to a cobra way back quite easily - are hull upgrades not possible with a Python or are there specific stations?

The answer is the same as for any "I can't find" thread. Set your galaxy map to show you high tech/high pop systems, massively increasing your chances :)
 
Cheers - I'll keep looking. Seemed a lot easier for the Cobra. Maybe as suggested needs to sell the ship too.
Would like to see what a hull component upgrade with the 5 hull reinforcements I've got would do if anything.

Be aware that armour won't protect modules at all, so it's more or less useless against a skilled human opponent, who will be targeting your powerplant or drive. The same goes for hull reinforcement. Maybe if you have 51M to spare, you could get the military hull upgrade, but I'd get rid of the hull reinforcements in favour of SCBs, assuming you can configure your power to run them.

If you're using a decent shield and shield boosters on your Python, you should have beastly shields, anyway. Unless you're facetanking Gojira, NPCs shouldn't ever be an issue.

Cool, good to know - PvE in CZs you tend to get multiple attacks so extra hull here would help I recon - as you say PvP would target power plant. Have 2 * A6 cells which seem to do the job quite well, although in battle I can only run 1 at time due to the 3 *C3 G laser sucking all the juice. :) With hardpoints off they are both available for all sorts of good reasons.

I'm thinking when it comes to leaving in a hurry time a hull upgrade may by me a little more time as they would only be shooting me in the butt.

The very next station I went too supplies Python - bingo, hull upgrades available.....whats the chances eh?

I'm assuming hull reinforcement would apply to the hull upgrades too? Any gauge as to how much extra armament the upgrades give? Only shows the extra weight in both outfitting and EDshipyard

Back to the original point - all these upgrades are still a Class 1 - outfitting shows it can take a Class 8. Do greater than 1 exist?

Ignore the number. There are no classes for hull upgrades, they are always ship-specific. The only thing that matters is the name of the upgrade (light, reinforced, military-grade, mirrored, reactive).
