It is actually least popular ship (or is it better to say "least owned") on INARA.
Saying it is less popular, when it is only available for dollars is a bit premature. I would wait until mid August and then check the numbers. You will probably see a big jump then. But, after a few weeks of play, see if those numbers fall.
Better yet, since this ship is specifically combat oriented, I would try to make the comparison to other popular combat ships. If you are a combat geek it matters. If you are a trader/miner or explorer, you may play with it and go back to your favorite for that.

I think it will end up somewhere between the Mamba and the FdL once fully available.
If looking at the ship itself and how it appeals to the playerbase, sure. But I think the bit of interest to most assessing its "popularity" at this stage is probably more how well-recieved the Arx-access has been.
That was my thought as well.
IMO, a great medium combat ship.

I don't worry about the paid for aspect, I let others do that for me..
Those that have something against paying for it will have it in a few weeks..

I am explorer mostly and settlement butcher, but I bought a pre-build one. I like it for HI-CZ. But I have engineered lots of modules and probably stuck with them until I ready to let go this huge material loss.

It probably punches above its weight.
The only real competitor to PII is FDL. Krait is a multirole and not as maneuverable, C-ships and brickships lack the firepower in comparison (but are also two times cheaper).
