Newcomer / Intro Python or Fer-de-Lance?

Hello. I would like to hear the advice of experienced players.
Now I play on T-7 and very close to buy Python or Fer-de-Lance, but I dont know what is better? The ship needed for hunting and pvp, dont want to trade more. Have a ~30-40kk for upgrade. Help me plz, thank you :)

I too was in a T-7 and chose the Python, simply because it has potentially 292t cargo and is a good fighter, better allrounder. The FDL is a great ship but with limited jump range and very limited cargo space i felt it too restrictive for my playstyle.

keep making cash with the T7 .... you need a lot more to buy and equip either ship for hunting or PvP

this close to a major patch release (1.3) ..... it may just be wiser to wait and see

The Fer-de-lance is THE bounty hunting ship. Tough. Fast. Hard-hitting.

A Python is a damn good all rounder. I use it for missions because it's good for 1:1 combat, carries 180T of cargo and jumps up to 17Lyr. But.. It costs 100M CR+ to get it to that point.

The FDL might cost 50M CR, but because most of it's slots are lower class sizes, the upgrades are a magnitude cheaper. In a target rich environment you can make 1M CR every twenty minutes in an FDL. Its downside is a limited jump range of 14Lyr and a tiny fuel tank. Not a problem for local trips, but a hazard on long journeys.

My FDL cost 78M CR, while my Python cost 128M CR.

Currently I have the Anaconda for trading, the Asp for exploration, the FDL for combat and the Python for grunt-work.

This is exactly the choice I'm facing too. Have a Vulture for BH and an Asp for exploring/trading..

To me the FDL is starting to sound more promising, particularly when 1.3 comes with multiple fuel tanks, so that shortcoming will effectively be removed.

Extra fuel in the FDL ? Where are you going to put that ?
Not even room for my golf clubs. Pity, nice ship, but needs an extra compartment or 2 as it is.

Does anyone know any (guesses at) the stats for the Diamond Back? - Unless I heard wrong it is in the next big update

heard nothing at all Crazy..... like the Courier the ships seem to be largely unknown... probably have to wait for any testing by the "Beta Testers" before any stats/info leaks

First of all you have nowhere the cash for a python. That will take around 150M to fully equip plus cargo and rebuy cushion. An FDL on the other hand Will take about 78M to get it fully upgraded. But, it all comes down to what you want to use it for. The Python can carry as much cargo as a t7 and can land at outposts, and can handle a fight, but your rebuy will be way higher than the t7. If you want to be able trade and or fight the python is a viable option. The FDL, on the other hand, is a pure combat ship and excels at it. It can mass lock everything except another FDL or conda. If you are looking at combat only that is your ship ---rebuy is also high. Of course the vulture is a much cheaper combat ship that can kill npc elite anacondas with ease, but the FDL might be more fun to use
You have enough right now to get a vulture fully equiped and keep your t7. You can earn as much as trading in the t7 at a good Res site, as long as you don't hit an asteroid ---don't ask me how I know that
Have fun what ever you choose, and keep in mind what ever you do it is not final ---you can always change your mind ant trade whatever kip you get for the other
