Ships Python owners....An A rated ASP against a just bought Python, won wins? Elite pilot

As title says, I have a A rated ASP, I can afford a just bought Python (48Mcr with discount;P).

Is a stock Python tuff enough to defeat a A rated ASP?

Edit :- should be who wins?

Absolutely, if it's an NPC. If it's a human, I'm dubious. But it's certainly possible if you're skilled enough with FA disabled.

I would advise against jumping into a Python without having enough for some essential upgrades and, of course, re-buy. There's no hurry; the Asp is a capable ship. Stock Python, not so much. I'd exercise a bit more patience and get more cash in this case.

Depends what you plan to do with it. If you plan on combat you will need some serious upgrades to Python, but if you plan trading then you can get away with stock Python.

stock python vs. a rated Asp? hell no.

i started with my python around 85 mio, it felt like an upgrade to my Asp around 95 mio onwards.

It's a bit of a daft contest to be honest. A stock anything is pretty poor so putting an A rated Asp against a ship with stock modules is like putting a Lamborghini against a 1972 Austin Allegro. However once that Python is properly upgraded it will boil the Asp.
I own both Asp and Python and love both and have got to agree a Python only starts to get combat interesting at 90mil plus. (Discounted). I personally hate fighting in the Asp: but that's just personal taste.

When I had the Asp I used 4 m-cannon turrets and 2 gimballed medium pulse lasers it was an effective loadout, the turrets are great for chewing up Sideys and Eagles and the pulses to burn through the shields on bigger ships.

142M credits is lowest amount needed to buy and equip such a ship - and enjoy in it. Plus 15M if something goes wrong. Twice.

Not feeling like a boss and wondering if 5 times cheaper ship can take me down - is not my way of joy.

I changed my ship-cost views after I was killed in unarmored Vulture because NPC Asp disabled my plant with it's rails. Twice.

Fair one. I personally trade exclusively in my Python and it makes me shed loads of credits. I don't fight in it if I can help it and rely on its 6A thrusters and 7A PD to get me out of inevitable interdictions. I run a 5A shield augmented with 4 A rated shield boosters and use my module space to equip 252T of cargo racks.
Saying that it has x3 large gimballed pulse lasers and x2 medium gimballed beams so if anything is stupid enough to go toe to toe with me I have the agility the speed the punch and the armour to make their day that little bit worse.
I'm saving for a FAS so I can properly dominate in combat.

Pulses are good.. if you can run two bursts though they really make a dent in a hull with the m-cannons at full chat. A-rated power on an ASP could run the bursts for a long time, the m-cannons use nothing.

As for an A rated Asp besting a stock Python. Not on the default pulses - not a prayer.

However, equipped off E-class internals with C3 gimballed bursts, turreted c2 kinetics... boost the shields and a cell pack. Then it would be a closer contest, depends how good the python pilot is with FA off.

Would I do it? Not on your life..... :) If I was in the Asp, I'd go for the thrusters first.
