Python shipkit spoiler paint wear and UV

I just bought the Python Shipkit and noticed with 50-40% paint wear that really ugly UV map on the spoiler.
Really? You cant even assign an own UV-map + paint wear to the spoiler and have to use a UV-map (like it seems) from a different part?
I can totally live with the low wear quality of the other pieces (jagged edges) and also with the totally different degration apart from the main Paintjob.
But 10€ is still too much for only 16 pieces and really really much if these 16 piece dont even have a decent quality.

I am dissapointed FD! Please Fix ASAP! and not just Soon™!

regards cmdr Nupol

The price of those ship kits is ridiculously high. They would sell like hot cakes if they charged a quarter of the price. 8 quid forget it.

On my Asp, the ship kits don't seem to show any wear at all. I guess that's better than "wrong" wear, though.

Considering we PAID for the kits, FD really should provide high-quality visuals for them.

One thing that bothers me about some of the python nose options is that they cover the ship lights which kinda sloppy i think because proper ship lighting is an essential tool

They'd have to pay me to put these terrible looking pieces of plastic on my ships. They don't match the paintjobs, shaders or show wear and tear. Really terribly implemented at the moment.

I agree they could be better. I'd also prefer straighter and sharper edges on the tips of the vertical stabilizers and wings to better match the ship design so they looked less tacked on.

That being said, I'm still glad for the ship kit overall. The Python especially desperately needed some aesthetic balancing out toward the rear end to compensate for its humpback, in my opinion.

They show wear & tear. Just look at the first picture. Lmao

I find them quite representative of frontier's work ethic, in terms of what they charge and the quality of the product you get for it. Not much sympathy for anyone who bought one though, I'd consider it a lapse in judgement at best.

how come my extra wings dont go with the paintjob??

got a conda with 0% paint, but the parts not even match.. same as the python..

and... for that 10 euros, was editing the hologram to much to ask?

so we see what we paid for while we are in the ship?...

I normally hold out for FDev sales for vanity items like paint-jobs, and the Python is the first body kit I've purchased.

I can't say I've been blown away by it - the outfitting view esp for the rear wings isn't terribly good, and I'm a tad underwhelmed by the variety and possible permutations - to be honest I was hoping for a bit more.

I don't regret the purchase, and some permutations in certain colours do look very good (and I'm not suggesting my example is one of those!), but I doubt I'll be in any hurry for any more body kits, in no small part down to the fact that the original designs for most ships was blooming brilliant to start with!

Yes I agree, I'm a tad disappointed by this too, kinda takes 30% of the point of the body kit away, for me at least.

Hmm... Just noticed the kits don't have shadows either. [blah] Have a look under the wings in my pic above.

Well, here's hoping Frontier will resolve some of these issues.

This is a sad trend for FD. Put in minimum effort, sell it, then fix it later when people complain.

They did this with:
Elite Dangerous release
Horizons
Paint jobs
Ship kits

If they were selling alpha or beta (not the extra cash beta), games then it would be acceptable, but ED was marketed as a full game before it even had wing support.
Honestly I don't think it's worth buying anything that hasn't been out for 6 months. I wish I'd held off on Horizons.

I am not really impressed with the medium/large ship kits. The small ship kits are fine IMHO, and offer a bunch of good new looks. The larger ones are all between 'meh' and 'dear lord thats bad'. :( Dont think the FdL one will be any better, have no idea what one can do with that basic shape, its perfect for what it is and just putting spoilers and fins on it would be a bit silly. :p

They don't cover them. Take a look down the front profile and the bumpers have holes cut out of them for the front lights to work through!

So far, for me the Vulture has been the best one. The Cobra is ok. Will be interested with what they do with the MK4, the iCourier and Keelback.
