Ships Python with missiles?

Hello,

playing in Private Group, currently my ship has this build up:
https://coriolis.io/outfit/python/0...c040400030505B104040302022f.Iw18eQ==.Aw18eQ==
(Maybe i change the Biweave with a 6A shield generator
Obviously it is made for trading, but i like to have some teeth.
And sometimes after i was interdicted i do not, i fight.

Would it make sense to replace one 'M'-slot with a missile rack and take some seeker missiles on board?

I fitted seeker-missile racks on both forward topside hard-points of my Python. Awesome. Lookit 'em run! The problem is having to face your opponent to use them and they take several seconds (while you are absorbing fire!) to lock-on to their target. Effective, though. Besides those, two large gimbal-mounted MC aft-topside and a huge gimbal-mounted beam laser fitted to the chin-mount. Efficiency mods on the beams, rapid-fire mods on the MCs and missiles, overcharged power plant mod, increased range mod for the FSD and charge-enhanced power distributor mod.

Do you have any engineer modifications to your ship?

These can make quite a difference as to what weapons to recommend.

For example on my Python I have Grade 3 Dirty Drives fitted. this allows me enough of an improvement on the maneuverability to run 3 Large FIXED Pulse, (One is rapid fire, the other two are lightweight). I then have 2 medium turret Burst (again lightweight modification) for stripping shields away. This I find allows me a much more controlled fire pattern and I can stack a lot less point into the weapons section of the distributor.

Here is a lot of information about missiles, i was looking for - Thanks a lot

Nothing at my ship is pimped - yet

I heard someone mentioning, that the Python would really benefit from drive tuning, great to get a confirmation and a goal to work for.

Thanks to both of you [up] - you answered very effectively - i'm pretty shure to know now, what i have to aim for at the engineers.
And about the weapons? You advised me a couple of real interesting stuff. Maybe i'm going for another setup, maybe with one of yours.
I gotta try it, see whats working best for my style.
But the first goal - get the drive and the modules tuned.

No huge hardpoints on Python, but I get what you're saying :D
How do you deal with massive shields and SCBs with just one thermal weapon?
