What is the max amount of animals I can wish for? Do I need to separate them by groups?
Just to clarify further:
You can pretty much vote for anything (no extinct or mythical animals), You should vote for animals from the first game you want to see return.
You can vote for up to 200 animals, there is no need to separate by group all animals will be treated the same regardless of whether they are returning animals, new animals, exhibits, aquatics or aviary.

I mainly used my votes for returning PZ1 animals and additional mammals I'd like to see. I figure all you bird lovers will cover those guys. Also, I'm too lazy to convert my list to the species level, I'm sorry.

Given Planet Zoo 2 probably isn't going to have the same obstacle as Jurassic World Evolution 3 where they had to create male and juvenile models for all the existing species, Planet Zoo has been doing that since the start. Though I would add a subspecies system where different subspecies or populations could potentially be selected similar to variants in JWE2, so we have whole species for the Continental Tiger, Grey Wolf, Leopard, Brown Bear and Asian Elephant. That would bring the roster down to 205 from 210. But if I were to drop any species, it would be the Goliath Frog and Titan Beetle because both aren't found in zoos (in the case of the frog, not anymore).
This is not in any particular order other than alphabetical order as it's a bit much to try to sort through from scratch. I went with 160 species of a variety of types - notations beside a few (E) - exhibit (M) - Fully Marine. Flying birds/bats would work in habitats - no walk throughs for those, but butterflies may need to be resigned to normal exhibits.

I made a list of the new animals I want to see in the 3 new types of animals that I think Planet Zoo 2 should have.
1.Marine animals (Fully Aquatic big animals)
2.Marine exhibit animals (Smaller aquatic animals that would be in the new fully aquatic exhibits)

Umm but people voting not necessarily will pick species based on what is common i real zoos. I for instance don't care about that when selecting animals i want for the game so i won't based my picks on what is common or not in captivity but just on the animals i like i would like to see/have in the game. I always try to be realistic so like no great white shark or humpback whale but something like a kakapo would probably be in there.
Thread is getting repurposed as others have visions for this particular thread idea.
