Q about Navy Assassination mission

Ok long story short her Imp Clipper smashed my Cobra but I havent failed the mission. Is she as I left her? All wounded and vulnerable ;,,;

Use class 2 fixed beams to eat the shields. Use class 1 dumbfire missiles to kill to ship.

Imp clipper has the two big guns on top of the nacelles. The smaller two guns are underneath on the main fuselage near the nacelle pylons.

Attack from behind and below and you should be able to do it with minimal damage (you have time to get into position before they attack). Take a shield cell battery just in case for these missions, remember to use as you are taking sustained damage, but before shields go down.

I think if they are part of a private group they can. Good question though

I hope other commanders can help in open play :)

I am in the same boat as the OP, took a mission (mine ends at 11:00am tomorrow), need to complete it tonight. Had a go last night, Fed Dropship for me. I am in an Adder, so my top line speed seemed better, guns and defence not so much :lol. I was holding my own mind, 69% hull for me, had the dropship down to 79% - slow goign but figured my tactics and power out so was prepared to grind it down. The cops showed up "to help" and shot one accidentally, so advanced in another direction in Supercruise.

Upped my guns (need to be careful I have fixed MCG) - got a shield bank (or 2) time to have another go tonight. Bring it on, but if anyone is around I will beg for help for some cargo, but I am a bit skint at the moment....

Shield Cell Module if you're having trouble. Use 2 lasers for shields, 2 Auto Cannons + the lasers for hull as others may have mentioned. I killed those mission clippers in my Cobra with no damage sustained easily.

Just dont have the cash for the dumbfire. Running 2 gimballed C1 Beam and 2 C2 MCannon, KWS, 1 Empty Utility slot.

Last time she got the drop on me, temped by the Shield Cell. Will give that a go.

Remember to pop the shield cell BEFORE your shields collapse, boost away if needs be to let 'em recharge to full as you turn in for another run.

You can downgrade your FSD to make some cash if need be. Once the mission is done you can swap back to old loadout for no cost. You will have to spend about 10k on missiles up front though.

Swap gimbal lasers for fixed. They will free up some cash and do more damage. On a Cobra, you should have no problem hitting a stationary clipper because the mountings are so close to the cockpit. Again, switch back after if you prefer.

Some jobs need special loadouts and it costs nothing to change equipment, only hulls. That is why multipurpose hulls cost more in the first place.

Couple of mistakes made, found some missiles, thought they were dumbfire but they were seeker. Still impressed at the damage. Anyway found a load of rare art looking for my target. 28k fine from empire later I'm scouring forums for a black market. Found one next door which also sold the dumbfire. More damage :) Been hunting her a while now but no joy. Looking forward to our next encounter. Thanks for the advice guys n gals
