QoL: Emote wheel + sitting + NPC's reacting to said emotes

Watch Dogs 2 has a really neat NPC interaction system where they react to whatever emote you do while looking at them. You say hi, they'll either say hi back or mutter "weirdo" and move on. You insult them, they'll insult back or start a fight. You gesture them to chill out while they're semi-aggro, and there's a chance they'll chill out. You can dance, and occassionally they'll cheer you on or dance along.

Now, even if these PvE interactions might be hard to develop, we still need emotes at least for P2P interactions. I'll give some examples of emotes, what they could look like. To stick with the silent protagonist trope, none of these have an accompanying voice line, but doing any emote will draw attention, similar in intensity to the sprint sound.

Also we should be able to sit on every single thing that can be sat on (couches, chairs, bar stools etc.), with a separate emote for sitting on the ground. Players will instantly be pulled out of the sitting state if they take damage or try to move.

Emotes should be bindable to keys, for reasons that will become obvious below.

  • Hello: simple hand gesture, raises the off-hand briefly; used on an NPC in general will have a slight reassuring effect, making civilian NPC's slightly less grumpy and reducing the change of being scanned by a guard.
  • o7: self-explanatory, basically a reskin of hello
  • wave: different from Hello. Similar effect on NPC's as hello, but doesn't attract the attention of unaware NPC's. Gives a visual and auditory ping to every team member, indicating their location, if they're within render distance.
  • high-five: you raise your hand for a high five until you move or pull out any equipment or until someone comes in front of you and completes the emote by high fiving in return. For NPC's, any reputation above and including friendly will result in a chance of the NPC accepting to high five with a cooldown of x minutes per NPC, can cause suspicious guard to forget they wanted to scan you
  • de-escalate (aka "chill out") you briefly do the chill out gesture with both hands, causing the occasional calming of "yellow" NPC's and de-aggro-ing of NPC's that were triggered by very small forgive-able infractions like trespassing a second time or having a weapon out for too long.
  • surrender: raising hands above head (always parralel with head for funny "praise the sun" moments) until equipment is drawn or player sprints or jumps; if done after a failed scan, or any action that gave a bounty and triggered soldier aggro, allows the player to hand themselves in and pay their bounties off.
  • pointing: for Team members, the point gestures also briefly creates a blue compass landmark wherever the player points. This mark is visible to and trackable by all team members. This can be an NPC, an interactable, a point of interest, or just the first solid spot pointed at, if none of the above are present; for this gesture, the animation plays differently for each held item, only for as long as the button is held. So the button can be tapped for a very short "point ping".
