I’ve seen numerous suggestions about saving ship module loadouts, which I think mostly stem from he difficulty of using the outfitting screen when one has many modules stored. The interface is fairly monstrous to use when a long list of modules are available locally or remotely, and finding the module you’re looking for can be difficult and time consuming.
My proposed solution is that stored modules should be categorized in the same way that modules available for sale are - dive into the category, then you get a list of available modules of that category you have stored. I always know what type of module I’m looking for in my storage, so it won’t make it more difficult, and for modules at the end of the list when they are all aggregated, this interface probably won’t even add button presses before getting to the proper module. I’m hopeful that this solution invites the fewest possible complications and requires the fewest possible design and coding resources, as the tiered interface for the shop already exists. I recognize that it doesn’t answer all complaints about outfitting ships quickly, but I feel it would make substantial progress quickly.
