Some simple requests/suggestions;
1) At the moment, when we 'honk' the discovery scanner, we get system map but the navigation panel is full of nondescript 'unexplored'. Since body names are derived from position (unless specifically 'hand' named), can we not append the body position? so we'd have, for example:
unexplored A
unexplored A1
unexplored A1A and so on
My reasoning is that opening the system map can be slow and is certainly a little jarring - I often glance and figure I might DSS the first 4 bodies as an example, but due to alignment it is often not the closest 4. So either you keep opening system map to select the next body, or you sometimes scan the 'wrong' body. And the fact is we can already assign the names from the system map, so it seems a bit silly to not display it in the navigation panel (but we do still need to retain whether the body is scanned or not)
2) It would be *nice* if there was a way to determine whether a body had been surface scanned or detail surface scanned (ie level 2 or 3) in the navigation panel - be it by icon or slight colour/boldness difference. This is to allow easy identification of bodies you previously scanned without a DSS that you might want to DSS scan now for the extra cash and information.
3) When the honk completes, we get a 'x bodies discovered' in blue text on the top right info panel. Could we break this down a little? eg, 20 bodies discovered, 2 stars, 4 asteroid fields and 14 planets/moons. Again, this is to provide information up front to avoid always having to open the system map to see if the system is interesting enough to warrant further exploration. Be REALLY cool if it mentioned 'anomaly's too
4) Probably pushing it a little but.....how about the option for either a 'thumbnail' style system map pop-up in the corner, or a transparent overlay of the system map in the HUD? Something that allows a look at the system map whilst still letting you fly the ship? The regular system map is still there for more detailed work, but a transparent overlay that makes it clear several of those bodies are ringed (for example) might raise some interest to further investigate.
