The thruster reduction bug caused by Rotational Correction being set to On has been documented for over a year now. It was last listed as a know issue in the Update 13 patch notes and never mentioned since. This bug is still documented in the bug tracker.
I'm not sure why it is taking so long to fix that bug, but that isn't the point of this suggestion. My suggestion to mitigate the issue is this: allow the Rotational Correction setting state to persist on ship even after logging off. This way we those of use who know to turn it off won't constantly have to remember to turn it off every time we log back into the game!
I'm not sure how much coding work this will take, so I can't speak to how easy or difficult this will be on the Dev end. On the player end, there is no downside. If you turn it off, you are constantly reminded of it, as you get an alert it is being turned back on every time you disembark on foot/SRV; and you are again alerted to it being turned off when you reboard the craft. More to the point, it is hard to tell (until too late) that RC is still on until your ship drifts out of control and pancakes on a landing pad (worse if during AX combat). Conversely, it is instantly visually apparent that RC is off if you enter a spinning station.
This is QoL adjustment that wouldn't need to be removed even after you fix the bug. We'll still get the alert it is off from our COVAS.
So please, if you can't fix this bug (and the wait is getting very frustrating at this point), at least make it easier on those of us who know the work around. It's a real chore to remember to turn this off every time you log back in (especially if you remember after entering super cruise, as you can't toggle it until your in normal space again). I'm tired of having a post-it hanging from my monitor to remind me to keep turning it off.
Thanks.
