General / Off-Topic Quadraphonic

Greetings,

Remember those days? Four channels of separate audio requiring four speakers. Demo LP albums had trains and helicopters flying around in your living room. It was amazing. But it never caught on with the music industry. Later technology developing surround sound ended this moment in audio advancement. But for a moment it was pretty cool.

Regards

In the 70s, the people were far from being imbecile

I was a child but I remember seeing disks vinyl of symphony orchestra and marked "Quadraphonic"

Happy days this period

Yes; I do remember.

Lester square; watching James Bond, The Spy that loved me and the Helicopter flow past the back of my head.

Ah the good old days.
Cleaning LP's, brushing the needle gently, adjusting the arm with just enough weight, so that the bass might cause the needle to skip, stop and readjust.
Setting the RPMs correctly.
Of course I never understood how quadraphonic could work on a 2 channel cartridge.
