Quality of CH Stick/throttle?

Back in the '90s, whilst searching for a good stick setup I went through 4 CH sticks; 2 flightsticks and 2 flightstick pros. All died after a few month's use. On one the y axis pots failed and the centering spring failed on the other 3.

I don't think its me, as I settled on a Thrustmaster TQS/FLCS which lasted for years and my current cheap Saitek st290 has taken 5 years of punishment.

CH sticks get great reviews these days so has quality improved?

Edit - I'm particlarly interested in the pro throttle

Today they last forever from what I've heard, but the same is true of Saitek. My X-52 Pro dates from around 2006 and has seen almost daily usage during that time.

I used a CH Products stick, throttle and rudders all throughout the 90's. I got it them originally toplay Jane's Longbow in 1996 and used it for every flight sim I could get my hands on for about ten years until sims went out of style. I eventually sold the whole set for pennies on the dollar because they were serial port versions and I got tired of moving them around. All that time I never had a problem with any of them.

Don't know if my experience was typical or not, but when I got hooked on ED I had no trouble going back to CH Products for a new HOTAS rig. It feels like the exact same stick I had ten years ago, though it sounds like for you that's not a good thing. ;) For me, though, I'm counting on another decade of use and abuse.

I am on my second CH Fighterstick, the first one lasted years and eventually only had to be replaced because I live near the beach and the Y-axis trim pot corroded when it was not used for 6 months.
I replaced it with an identical model, my CH Throttle is still working perfectly after 14 years and the mini-joystick under your Left thumb can't be beat.
I'm sorry you had such bad luck with CH as they are usually better-built than any other and that's why they cost more.

As an alternate I see Saitek have a HOTAS setup that loox good for about $200 on Amazon.
