Quality of Life issues :(

Could we have perhaps some sort of module, available at most stations, that would allow ships to hide when attacked? Basically kind of like a "combat logging" module. I am thinking this... a special device that allows you to hide in "safe space". This will hopefully improve the "quality of life" for many and help "remove barriers to fun". They could be quite expensive for sure, but for those who don't like the grind, they could buy them in groups of 10 from the ED store, and have access to them anywhere in the galaxy via the ships onboard universal constructor maybe? I think if we apply enough handwavium and technobabble, it will fly with most casual player. What do you guys think?

I cannot even fathom the impact it would have on this game. While I have never been much of a hardcore fighter person, I absolutely cannot back that idea. "Hell No."

But you wouldn't have to use it. It's a Quality Of Life issue for many of us. We don't have the time to grind for the big ships and wizard modifications so why should we be punished?

Yes but only if we have a module that reveals your position in "safe space"

To quote new McCoy from the abysmal new Trek movies...

I think this is an excellent idea!

I tried the workaround method of "not playing" for a week or so, so NPC's couldn't find me, but 3D printing these modules would mean I could still play.

*edit* And I'm sure that the BMW 4 series that interdicted me on a roundabout yesterday was an Elite NPC so they may have got around my workaround.

How about a holographic emitter to project a false image and sensor readout, to suddenly make it appear as if there were more than one ship, leaving the interdictor to guess which is real and which is an illusion, while both 4-pip shields/3-pip engines and boost away in diverging vectors?

I cant tell if you are joking or not...
I hope you are.

The game is allready bendingover backwards for the players and treating us like gods...

Such a game mechanic already exists...it's called solo and it's 100% effective ^^

I know, when I get attacked I usually leave the fight and go into solo until i think they are gone (unless i attacked them and they are weaker than me of course). but I have to wait 15 seconds to log out. I think this is really unfair and mean, and need a quick way to get out of combat in a legitimate way. I need to be able to leave instantly, otherwise my ship gets wiped out!

Ahh.. But Arcadius's solution works against NPC's too!

I won't argue with that, although I find npc interdictions relatively easy to avoid and I'm not a very good player. Ye would have to be fairly desperate to wanna pay for a system to avoid them when even a mediocre noob like me can do it fer free.

Thankfully get lots of practice in that respect...but playing in solo might at least help if open was ever to become an issue...just sayin ^^

The "not playing" exploit is really amazing. It not only cuts down on NPC interdictions, it also prevents anyone from combat logging on you. Everyone should try it out before FDev decides to nerf it.

It's called "Solo Mode." Go play it...
