General / Off-Topic Queen's Doctor in crash

Homeopathy can (properly administered) actually work. In Germany homeopathic medicine is properly managed. My Mum had damaged knees that were not healing properly (if at all). Part of the reason is that they were not hurting. Her regular doctor recommended a homeopathic practitioner. He went through her problem, and ended up injecting mistletoe into her knees. It hurt like hell, but it also kick started her body immune and repair system. It took a couple of injections per knee over time, but her knees are now healthy (for example, she ran (and finished) the London Marathon in 2000, something she could not have done before the treatment).

Seriously, either homeopathy is rubbish, or atomic theory is wrong.
It's a no-brainer.
And it's been repeatedly debunked, here by the UK parliament. It's baffling that the Head of State of a country uses a treatment that is condemned by its own Parliamentary findings, but is no doubt funded by the taxpayers.

70. In our view, the systematic reviews and meta-analyses conclusively demonstrate that homeopathic products perform no better than placebos.

Conclusions
110. The Government's position on homeopathy is confused. On the one hand, it accepts that homeopathy is a placebo treatment. This is an evidence-based view. On the other hand, it funds homeopathy on the NHS without taking a view on the ethics of providing placebo treatments. We argue that this undermines the relationship between NHS doctors and their patients, reduces real patient choice and puts patients' health at risk.

I guess that I'd be OK with handing out fake pills and chatting up the Royals, instead of doing actual medicine, in exchange for large sums of money. Easy work if you can get it.
