If you’re a Quest headset user playing Elite via a Link cable then you probably know what I mean by “white bar glitch” - occasionally the bottom 20% of your view glitches out, becoming a very faded version of the normal view with square artefacts. In Odyssey it usually happens when the low fps bug occurs around Station concourses.
Well, a clever ex-Meta bod seems to have figured it out - Link splits the image into 5 slices for encoding, and it looks like the fifth slice is getting corrupted.

The solution is to make a single registry edit to change the 5-slice encoding to 1-slice encoding (like AirLink) or possibly 3-slice (for a slight reduction in latency compared to 1-slice).
This is a longstanding bug for the Quest headsets and one I’ve experienced quite a number of times in Odyssey and the Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod so this solution is big news for me
