Question about 1.3 and SteamVR

Hey guys,

I've uninstalled SteamVR in order to make sure I have the best 1.3 experience possible with the DK2. Got it working yesterday and everything seems fine. My question is, does anyone know if SteamVR will kick in if it's installed now ? I'm asking because there may be some games from my Steam library I would like to try in VR but I don't want an additional layer of code between me and ED. Does SteamVR kick in automatically or not, and, if yes, any idea what the fps penalty is ? Should I reinstall it ?

For elite everything is fine, steamvr will not interfere with it. However, steamvr itself doesn't support 1.3 runtime, so it wont work and we can forget vr support in all the games that depend on it (like solus, subnautica, windlands, project cars etc). Hopefully developers will provide the codes to transfer purchases from steam library to oculus, but so far only FD and Windlands devs have actually done that.

Ah, ok. So no point in reinstalling it then.

Good to know I dont need to uninstall it.

Now how much better is ED on Win10 compared to Win7? Any difference performance wise?
