Question About Biological Signals

Okay, let's say you scanned & mapped a planet and when you check for the number of lifeforms on it you see that it has (for this example) six biological signals. Does this mean there are six completely different lifeforms on the planet or could there be multiple forms of one of the species, such as two different types of Bacterium?

For Odyssey bio's it's a different bio every time. Sometimes with legacy bios, Brain Trees for example, you will get two different variants of the same species.

If you have 6 signals there's at least 6 species on planet. Brain trees are the only one that is known to double up and they will still only have 1 signal not 1 bio signal per type. You'll need to check the biology tab in the system map to see that there's additional biology types beyond the number of signals if you want to confirm that you've found everything.

The anemones do also, I think most other Horizon bios only have one variant anyway right?
