Newcomer / Intro Question about co-op exploring/fighting etc.

Good evening commanders <o

I think about re-joining this great community, after I paused my activities back in 2015 (or was it 2014..?).

To be honest, I lost track of all the new features and contents in Elite and I am looking forward to step into the learning process once again. However I'd like to ask sth that I couldn't find an answer for - the 'read before post'-stickies are as countless as the stars in the universe are [where is it]

I plan to explore the PVE universe with a buddy. The plan is: him in a transport, me flying support in case he gots interdicted/ambushed by NPCs. Is that possible? I know it wasn't back then, when I stopped playing.
Further: will he be able to pay me for my services? Means: can I benefit from all the virtual $ he is making?

That's actually it. Sorry if I missed a similar thread somewhere in the forums... and thanks for your attention.

Yes, thats totaly possible.
You can wing up, either in open or PG (be it your own PG or mobius) since you mentioned a PVE universe.
As long as you are in his vicinity while flying in supercruise, you can follow him using the wingman-navlock even when he is interdicted.

He could pay in one of two ways:
-If he does wing-missions and shares them with you, then you will get the same reward as him.
-If he does free trading you would need to switch to multicrew before he sells the goods, then you will get a trade-dividend based on your rank (and his I guess)

As long as you are winged-up then you get a share of any trading profits - no need to be in multicrew to get a share of all trade profits, even non-wing-missions. I don't know about bounty and exploration data payout sharing, someone will no doubt chip-in with that info (I hope they do anyway).

P.S. Welcome back. :)

Each member of a wing gets the full payout from a bounty kill, so long as they get a hit in within about 10 seconds of the target being destroyed.
