Question About Conflict Zones

Kind of a BGS question, since it's a result of the BGS: What's the difference between Low Intensity and High Intensity Conflict Zones? Would it be the size of the ships in the zone? Because I've been seeing Big Three ships in Low Intensity. Would it be the rank of the pilots? Because I've been seeing Elite pilots in Low Intensity and Competent pilots in High Intensity.

I've been shying away from High Intensity before now because it sounded like a whole bunch of nope in my armored AspX. But now that I've kind have been forced to, I'm not seeing much of a difference. One little slip up in Low Intensity seems to be every bit as deadly as it is in High Intensity. So what's the difference?

Good question.

I think I have noticed a higher spawnrate at the high intensity ones. It's just a subjective experience, but I think there are more ships of both enemy and friendly ships in high intensity combat zones. This actually makes them easyier if you manage to stay with your fleet and are good at herding it to stay together. Also if you play in wing, high intensity is your only good choice.

I since rarely visit low intensity combat sites anymore except I am in for a challange as weird as it sounds. In low intensity it happens quite regurlary to me that my friendly fleet gets dispersed and I find my self ganked by a superior number of enemies.

Spawn rates, Combat difficulty and general ship toughness.

Low spawns slower, weaker ships and typically not as tough to fight.

High spawns faster, stronger ships and typically tougher to fight.

Generally speaking - but it creates an ironic twist in the long run if you can handle the Highs better, the higher spawn rates leads to quicker kills and if you can manage the mob AI allies you can continue to kill them quicker than the low.

We notice that HIgh-intensity CZs are balanced, where low will have more of one faction than the other one - consequently, they can paradoxically be a whole load more intense if you are on the wrong side

Anecdotally, NPCs will attack highest 'value' aka larger ships first. So in a Low Intensity CZ with fewer high value NPC targets this might make a player in a Python or above more of a target. Whereas, in a High Intensity CZ the player in a bigger ship is just one of many higher value targets and doesn't stand out so much.

Since I moved up to the Python a month or two ago, I find I get attacked less in High CZ than in Low CZ. Before the Python I'd drop down to a Viper MkIV for CZs and it then didn't much matter whether I was in a High or Low. I didn't find much joy in either with an AspX - too slow, and not enough 'pop' in the weapons. For a while I worked through the Federals (Dropship, Assault Ship, Gun Ship) with mixed results. The Python has been a godsend, as a generalist ship, but also able to handle most CZ.

For preference I'd now pick a High CZ while in the Python.

Speaking of Capital ships, did they somewhere on the way fix the insanity with the Wings of up to 15 (or even more) SLFs that are spawned? I remember the last time being in a High Intensity CZ with a Cap ship that I was chased away by one of the damn buggers. Manage to kill him about 8-10km away from the center of the CZ. Next thing I know is that his colleagues spawned / warped to my position and started to dissect me.
