Question about ELWs and Discovery Scanner...

simple question really as I'm new to this exploring stuff, just trying to get the 5000LY for Palin,

If I scan a system with the ADS and then check the system map will any ELWs look like so on the system map or do I need to surface scan the bodies first?

Once you've done a system scan with the ADS you will be able to tell what's in the system.

Generally you should be able to tell immediately if there's an ELW present.

Some ELW's are harder to identify than others though just from the ADS (ones with very little land mass). If you see even a hint of brown it's more than likely an ELW (and not just a WW)
