i know i need an elite rank but my question is do i need elite rank in everything or just one elite rank? for example, can i just have an elite explorer rank and still get it? i did a couple of google searches but this isn't very clear.

Elite in any rank will do.

I found out that you are also required to buy everyone in Jameson Memorial a beer.

He is right. Elite in any type of rank gets you in.

Odd that wasn't something easily located. But yeah... Once you hit Elite anything, you get the key to the executive washroom and shipyard!

After having access to Jameson for so long now, I can't imagine buying and outfitting a new ship any other place in the galaxy.

The term "One Stop Shop" definitely applies here!
