Hardware & Technical question about HD

HI ,

I have an HP LA2405x monitor that I bought from a company I worked for.

Display size (diagonal)
61 cm (24")

Aspect ratio
Widescreen (16:10)

Native Resolution
1920 x 1200

It has a 'displayport' rather than an HDMI port.

If I was to upgrade my GPU to one that will no doubt have an HDMI port, then use a displayport to HDMI adaptor , is there a way of telling what the highest HD resolution would be that I could run on it?

thanks.

If looks as if it has a DVI-D connector you should be able to get the 1920 x 1200 res.

Specs here.

Display Port is the new standard that replaces HDMI and DVI etc, so it makes no sense to go backwards :)

You can get adapters to/from Display Port to whatever you need, and I'd recommend using active ones.

HD is not a port type, and it's really not even a standard really, nothing to worry about with your monitor :)
