Question about Horizon Beta

Sorry if this has been covered but would like to know how it will work. Do we get to use our account or will we be given ships to use for the beta? I ask cause I'm half way across the Galaxy and will make my return if I need to buy stuff. Thanks!

Check this FAQ out https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=199716 for all the info you need. Short answer is FD have already taken a snapshot ie copy of your game from a few weeks ago and you'll use that. Nothing in beta affects your main game. Prices for new ships are usually 10% of the normal price.

In betas we have copy of our account (usually a week or two old). So you are were you where when the copy was created. In beta all prices are 10% from live server prices (anaconda cost 14 mil). Dalton Gateway has every ship for sale in starting system (lhs 3444??).

If you are far away from the bubble you can self destruct. Everything you do in beta will get wiped after beta goes to live server (horizon launch), all money earned, progress in ranks, ships and modules.

This has been the case with all previous betas and frontier hasn´t said that it would be different this time.

Noob question for you good people.

I'm about to pop my beta cherry with Horizons. Can I install it separately from Elite Dangerous, and switch in and out?

Yeah, just make sure you actually do it in the beta and not normal play

Btw(if you don't know already), if you want to land on planets when Horizon launch you need to get back to civilization and fit a landing module and buy an SRV.

Yes. It shows up in the launcher when Beta is up. Then you download it and launch it through there. (Just as singleplayer combat training.)

I'm still at a loss though, As premium Beta when do we actually get access to the Horizons Launcher as it does not show up in my account for download?

It's not out yet. Today is the release date but that doesn't mean a midnight release. Most updates come at about 2-8pm depending on the Dev's so we will see. Keep an eye here in the patch notes section but I'd expect it to be during working hours in the Uk (currently just hit 1am).
