Question about interdictions

I got ganked in Evarate last night, some twonk in a Vette. I did the submit, flip, boost, high wake.
It got me to wondering, does the ship that interdicts you take the usual damage from the drop out?
I escaped with 55% shields (Chieftain) and no damage what so ever, and I would like to think the Vette driver would have to repair all modules, which would mean nothing to him, but at least it's small justice.

As a side note, I was there at the request of a mate, to help with a wing massacre mission. We got the 54 pirates no bother, another commander in a conda joined our wing and helped out.
The ganking started as we headed back to port to turn in the mission, wingman (Newbie) got interdicted twice (and was killed twice) by another twonk in an FDL.

I think these gankers must suffer from big ship "Little Richard" syndrom. [big grin]

It depends on the speed you are going for if you will take damage or not on drop out.

Mate, with villains from all parts of galaxy getting together for a shootout in Eravate last night, you picked the worst possible time to coach new players.. )

Yeh I know, wingman took the mission and asked me to help, the mission was in LHS 1567 (I think) so there were no griefers there. What I didn't know, was he got the mission from Evarate.
So I had to jump 120 light years to get there, help kill 54 pirates, and then discover we had to turn the mission in at Evarate. Told him to switch to solo, but no "I'll be fine" he said.
He did switch to solo after dying twice to the same griefer, and only just managed the 2nd rebuy for his vulture, leaving him with 2,000 credits.

So today I stacked massacre missions near my home system, did most of the kills, while he travelled to my location (which is now his home as well, to get away from the madness at Eravate.)
He arrives, we pop into the haz res, complete the stacked missions in about 20 minutes, so he now has 90 million in the bank.

The guys a nice bloke and a pretty good pilot for novice rank, but he's trying to run, before he can walk. He wanted to blow the credits on a Python. I talked him down to an ASP and taught him planetary landings, and mat collection.
It was like watching Damon Hill on steroids.:D
