Powerplay Question about mining for credits

I am with Khaine and was mining at Delkar, which from the panel seems to be Undermining for me as it's under the control of Edmund Mahon. I was under the impression that I needed to sell my mined resources within the same system in order to earn merits. I didn't receive any merits and am wondering - is that because Delkar is a Stronghold? Does that mean it does not count as Undermining?
Cheers

It could be that it has to be within the range of one of your strongholds or fortified systems. I don't know that anybody has tested this thing in particular. But many other types of undermining must be done within the range of one of your own systems.

I had a similar experience. I attempted mining for undermining to avoid the 35% tariff on merits. (pledged AD)
  • Mined in enemy system with a stronghold within 30LY.
  • Flew straight from Hotspot to station in the same session to sell mined resources. Did not switch ships or use a Fleet carrier.
  • No merits gained.
  • Frustration.

I did check with the merit meter since messages sometimes don't appear. The system I mined in was an enemy power stronghold - like all mining spots.

Can anyone confirm this merit gaining technique actually works?

Reinforcement and Undermining: Mine and sell in the same system
Acquistion: Mine in supporting system (fort or stronghold) and sell to nearby unoccupied system.

You should have gotten merits for it though I belive there are some bugs with undermining strongholds right now. Might be worth trying in a fortified system even if its not many merits. If you want to find a good mining system in Kaine space though we have a bit network of them established which you can use to acquire new systems from or just earn merits in.

Does the system show up with AD listed as an opposing/undermining power? I have it in my head (rightly or wrongly) that this needs to be the case. Maybe it's automatically true for any system in range of an appropriate AD system though.

Thanks for the answers. I'm suspicious about it being bugged or possibly turned off.
I mined in TZ Arietis Wednesday. It's a maxed out stronghold so maybe it has to do with that.
I don't have anything to hide as I'm not really taking part in PP, just doing it for merits really.
As for checking if the power is listed in undermining. It is on Inara and Merit Miner, I have no idea how to check that in game but the power contact is enabled.
