Question about outfitting a fighter hangar.

Wondering why I cannot outfit my Type-10 with a fighter hanger, (5D), in a 5 slot which I made room for?
I've never used a fighter before and well would like to try it out.

Are you trying to put it into a size 5 military slot and not a general slot?
