PvP Question about PA effects

Although I have a feeling this belongs somewhere else, I believe it is the PvPers who will have a much better idea.

I have a Twin size 4 PA corvette, one with TLB, other with dispersal field (one that scatters all gimballed weapons). the effect for the latter says "at the cost of damage potential" although the stats on this are like most...very vague.

I was engaging an NPC Conda with these weapons, and bleed my distributor to have them fire one at a time. noticed the TLB would deal a fixed amount of around 7%+ per hit, the Dispersal would deal 1-7%.

Is dispersal a lot more negative than it is made out to be? do any PVPers use this mod and know much about it?

Just curious is all, I'd like to deal damage reliably if I can help it :)

Thanks for the help!

Dispersal is great against a lot of ships because it acts as chaff but without the ammo limit. The damage it deals is pretty decent, and the reduction of incoming damage is worth the minor loss of DPS.

Dispersal no longer has any penalty to damage at all; the description is outdated and they are exactly as effective at dealing damage as TLB.

If you were attacking shields, it's possible the target's changing pip settings were responsible for the differential you saw.

If you were attacking the target's hull, some of your hits were penetrating to modules and doing the majority of their damage to those rather than the hull.

Thank you both for the response! + Rep for the support :) :)

I was just curious about it, there are still a few experimental effects that even now I don't know what they entirely do. I was worried the damage was being reduced, but as Morbad stated, there are other factors in play that could of resulted in the damage 'reduction'

Thanks once again! I knew it was a better idea to go to the PvP community for this! ;)

The most widely used mods are TLB,Dispersal, Phasing and Dazzle. All 4 are great!
