Discussion Question about Player Journal [with apologies}

Somehow I'm sure this exact question has come up and the answer is everywhere. I did look... And I read the docs for the api here, which don't mention what I'm after (so my hopes are not exactly up).

Anyway, is there a way for a 3rd party app to read the current throttle position? As in, what the game knows your throttle to be set at?

I've built a throttle with motorized position holding, like motorized pots in a recording studio. I would like my physical throttle to always reflect my ship throttle even if I adjust my speed with incremental changes or hitting 0% or 25%. If the game will simply tell me my throttle position my controller will keep my physical throttle in the correct spot.

It's a minor grip but I control the ship throttle differently depending on what's going on and jumping over to the throttle that's still at the 75% position even though I've been at 0% for a while feels cheesy.

Thanks (I hope)

In my opinion, the journal (status.json) does not give you any feedback about the throttle position of your ship. Maybe there is a way to read it out via the API, but I have no idea.

Yeah, it's not mentioned in the docs for the status.json file. I think this may fall under the heading of stuff that FD have chosen to make unavailable (lots of people have requested the kind of telemetry needed to run a motion rig, for example; not sure if that particular thing was ever officially rejected or just left unanswered).
