I would like to know if i can buy this game via prepaid visa gift card?

I really want to get the beta.

Is there a tax on the $75.00 how much would it come out to be exact?

Will my Extreme 3D Pro Joystick work well with this game?

I don't see any reason a prepaid card couldn't be used

There was no tax on mine.

I'm not familiar with your stick but it should be fine.

i've been researching that very same stick, and from what i have gathered it will work perfectly, although you may want to control throttle via your keyboard

Im using Logitech 3D pro joystick, works fine, but yes, keyboard throttle is best, its either on or off with the joystick control

I've had no problem with the joystick throttle, works perfectly. You must have bound it wrong, digital input instead of axis. The 3D could use a few more buttons but it's a good cheap joystick for this game.

So i attempted to order the beta package which is $75.00 but my "visa gift card" kept getting declined i then attempted to use pay pal which did not work keep in mind the visa gift card only has $80 loaded on it.

so then pay pal told me the price was 84.49 in CAD. i even used there "Barclaycard Smartpay" payment method and that did not work it would just decline.

this is a reply i got back before i knew this.


Hi there. The exact price is $75 - there is no additional tax to pay on top of that. As long as the gift card is processed in the same way as a standard card transaction it should work absolutely fine, I would advise processing the payment using the card option in PayPal though, as we're currently experiencing some problems with Smartpay, which may delay the order. If you run into any issues though let us know. Thanks.

There main pay wont work because it's trying to use the pound currency and people are using $75 to pay and it wont work cause really it's $84.49

Before E: D "made" me upgrade to a Saitek X52 I also used an old Logitech 3D Extreme Pro and it worked very well. Throttle controls were no problem at all. I just lacked a few more buttons and... well that Saitek thingie has these cute LED lights on it :D

I paid the normal beta access via paypal and had no problems there. I'm in Germany though, so like you said maybe the currency rate is the problem. Maybe contact the store support?

yeah the Logitech 3d pro works good just lacks buttons and the throttle is not working very well need to use keyboard


i did been 2 days now i think they don't work on the weekends yeah the price should be using CAD not usd the price for the $50 package is 54.73.

Check if your pre-paid card does international transactions. I know that several here in the USA do not. I used a re-loadable one (lots of fees but still useful for saving up for stuff), that does international things.

Also, I used a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro before switching to a X52 and it worked just fine.

Yes i Have one i only get the trottel to work but you can assinge the buttons to joystick button 5 and 6 and everything is cool.

BTW: the Alpha from Star Citzen does support the trottel fully maybe it coems here too

No it works international because i've used this card many times the only reason it wont work now is because it wants to charge $84 not $75 so it wont go threw "there is only $80 loaded"

So you've got 80 Canadian dollars on the card rather than 80USD from the sounds of it, but the game is 75USD which is more than 80 Canadian dollars.
You'll have to add some extra Canadian dollars to your card or manipulate the exchange rates so that USD=CAD, but if you can do that I'd advise manipulating them until CAD=GBP as that's only 50.

It reminds me of a scene from Dodgeball.

The joystick you've got is great, I use the wireless version of it (which has the downside that it goes to sleep if not used for a while, so I have to remember to press a button before I undock from a spaceport).
I only use 3 buttons, the main trigger, button 2 for secondary fire, and 3 for select target.
For everything else I either use keyboard (most important is X for all stop!) or Voice Assist which is probably around 8CAD and uses Windows' built in voice recognition to run commands.
For throttle, on the keypad I have 0,1,4,7 for reverse 25,50,75,100% and .,3,6,9 for the same going forward, and they're controlled by voice too.

Get a couple of quid added to the card and come join us :)

Finaly got the beta

The CAD$ beat the usd$ i bought the game then waited for the rate to go up and it did now i can test the beta :D
