Newcomer / Intro Question about rare commodities

Hello forum.

I decided to start trading rare commodities. I went to station "X" and loaded up some 22 t of "X" wares. Then I went to station "Y" and loaded ship with 9 t of "Y" wares (specific to station "Y").

Then I realised that I wanted to buy a fuel scoop, but I could not swap it with my 4 t cargo space as it was obviously filled with storage (ware). So, I sold back rare commodity Y, outfitted my ship with scoop collector (sold 4 t cargo space), but when I went back to the market, the commodity Y was not there.

My question is: Is that commodity going to become available again and when?

My understanding is that the rares become available once they get sold. Is that right? If so, then why the commodity Y is not available?

Many thanks,

M

Hi,

It's possible that you took your max allocation of the 9t of rares at station "Y".

Even though you sold them back 4t, you won't get another allocation until you've left that station/system.

At least that's my understanding of it.

If you wait there long enough you'll find that they replenish, but not all at once, just a smaller amount of the maximum allocation. Twenty minutes might be long enough to see them come back into stock, but that's just a guess (I have never properly timed it).

EDIT: If you are logging off from your game session, get into the habit of buying first. Then, the next time you start playing there should be more already available.

You guys are right.
I initially sold back all of 9t, expecting the ware to spawn straight away.
I had not played for a while and I have just logged on and there are 5 t of Ware Y in the station.

Many thanks Engadine and Krepose Gavayne :)
