Question about scenarios, park size, and workshop.

I've discovered I can increase the park border in Scenario mode to be larger than the maximum size of the equivalent sandbox park. That was a surprising discovery!

I haven't really touched scenarios before, but I am interested in grabbing that additional real estate for my sandbox park. So far, here's how I get that extra land for sandbox....

  1. Create scenario and extend park border to the maximum dimensions.
  2. Save scenario.
  3. Open scenario as sandbox.
  4. Save park.

Great, now I have a bigger sandbox park., if an odd process to get it. I noticed that any trees that exist in this new extended zone are locked again as they are in normal sandbox beyond the park borders, so I must go back to scenario mode, delete the trees in this extended zone, and then repeat above to go back to sandbox. I'm happy this works, but why can't they just give sandbox parks the same border control method or max size as scenario parks?

Second question:

Are people who play scenarios from the workshop re-uploading those completed parks back to the workshop? How does this work? If someone spends 50 hours on a scenario, creating rides and buildings, surely they'd want to share that on the workshop? But does this completed scenario get uploaded as a sandbox or as a "scenario"? And how is the park credited, if at all, to the original scenario maker? Please help me understand how this works, thanks!

I've done this for my challenge parks, some settings also carry back over like guest traits. Not all settings though; loans, breakdown tolerance and ride age don't. Not sure what else. If you're playing sandbox, why not just play in the scenario editor? It's pretty much the same thing + you get a lot more settings to mess around with.

I don't know the answer to your second Q. Anyone can take credit for your work and upload it themselves on the workshop, that's just the nature of the beast. It's up to you and others to spot copies and report it.

Ok, well maybe I will play around in scenario editor more, just to get that extra park size, but I don't want break downs or loans or anything... I'm a sandbox guy all the way and the more stuff I can turn off in relation to management the happier I am.

I'm not concerned about copies and credit for work, it's more I'm just curious if people ware re-sharing the scenarios they complete, or if people are not bothering. No big deal.. just wondering.

In the editor make the breakdown tolerance extremely low like .1 and rides will barely ever break down. That setting might carry over if you save it as a scenario & then open it as a sandbox park.
