Horizons Question about SRV

It is for good reason that the game mechanics won't let anyone deploy their SRV on an "orbital station". That is for the same reason there are ship restraints used to hold your ship in place when you land....your SRV would float away into the black....or into someone's path which would effectivley get you blasted.

PS- This also applies to the large orbital stations through which you need to pass through a "mail slot" to gain access...they too require ship restraints.

A little bit of topic but SRV question. How do they get refueled? I stopped at a station and refueled my ship and took off to a planet to explore. When I deployed the SRV it only had 46% fuel.

That was frustrating. Is it a bug?

Yes, it's a bug. It was supposedly fixed, but it still sometimes crops up. Post a bug report about it so that they know it happened to you.

They could easily sort this out by having a zero G thruster mode, to hold the SRV down, and an electro magnetic holding brake. Probably been too busy doing the new viewing suit (combat cheat mode/EVE online emulator) rubbish.

Why would you even want to launch the SRV at a space station? There's nothing to do there.

No, at the real stations (not the outposts) there should be gravity due to the rotation at the sides (not in the center). And there are also these vehicles driving around which do not look like they are in any special way attached to the ground: https://youtu.be/VxanbMx7brk?t=70

Holding ships in place is required anyway, because with thrusters in operation you are floating. Similarly we attach ships to piers or putting wheel chocks to fixiate planes.. they shouldn't move on their own but it is just a standard operating procedure just in case..

No. Sorry. Has nothing to do with restraints or SRV's floating off. If FDev wanted to they'd simply program the thrusters to maintain your surface contact with the station. Simple fact is they don't want to, because you're not supposed to use SRV's on stations, you're supposed to use them on planets.

People really need to stop making up arbitrary fantasies to explain things that don't need to be explained.

WHY?...you just did it Windscreen. How is it you are privy to your version of your absolutely correct information?????!!!!

In any event I would think on this particular occasion it could go either way and if not it still serves to make/keep things more interesting.
