Question about the Combat Zone info tab and progress bar display.

Just managed my first non issue combat zone experience at the CG after running into issues earlier becoming wanted etc. What I would like to ask is related to the display up top right showing the progress and side missions etc.

This display was showing me the progress bars and other information, like killing the informants etc. Eventually it just vanished despite the battle still going on. Does anybody know what the point in this was and whether you are supposed to gain bonuses for accomplishing the smaller tasks set aside during the fight?

Should the bar have just vanished before completion?

Don't know.
I have done 1 battle with no sub missions, and got a Significant increase.
1 battle with sub missions to defend various ships that (I think) just vanished, and only got a Moderate increase.

We still don't know if the rewards from battles mean anything meaningful, they didn't in beta.

Beware the sub missions to take out special elite ships, they are mean mf

Doing more combat today and again the bar shows initially then the whole info bar display vanishes. Besides the comms chatter, what's new here and should the bar actually remain, what do the missions award? All I'm getting is the standard bounties for ship type killed.

You don't (or shouldn't if you're a money*time used/effort*by the square root of joystick/keyboard/mouse ware) do these for money. They should be all about the influence or challenge or fun with the combat bonds to cover your ammo and repairs and get you in the good books of the right engineers.

A single mid-level assassination mission will net you 2-3x more cash.

So... what's supposed to happen is Combat Bonds, resolved conflict zones, and relevant missions are all meant to contribute to winning the war.

In Beta, it seemed only combat bonds had any effect. The influence effects reported for resolving conflict zones seems odd... influence levels are locked during a war. Conflict zone resolution purportedly had their impact buffed, but I haven't tested it yet.

The progress bar "disappearing" if it hasn't been filled seems odd, should probably bugreport it.

And as Hacker said... credits isn't what you fight wars for... it's to influence the outcome of the war. As Hacker said, just take a simple assassination mission for 1-2m credits for a single kill... coincidentally this also proves the point about credits and CZs.... if you get an assasination which offers credits *or* influence, you'll note the credit reward is 1-2m, but if you take the influence reward, the credit reward is more like 100k.

The question isn't about the money to be made, but more to do with what that upper right info tab displays and why it keeps randomly vanishing even when you're still in the zone and the fight wasn't done.

What are the missions adding to when completed for example?

And when that tab vanishes so to do the sub missions.

And let's not kid ourselves that we don't want to make money in a game that takes a lot of it back constantly.

For me, anyway, with all the PvP engagements I don't ask for versus a wing or two of hungry blood suckers. Lol.

As I mentioned, that sounds like a bug.

They add to the progress bar when you successfully complete them (or the opposition, if you fail)

As I said in another thread, I'd do CZ's for free, and indeed I'd like it better if combat bonds were a thing, but I know that's a hardline approach. I have no problems getting money outside of CZs, and that's a rule for many activities in the game. Go make money doing one thing, so you have the means to do another.

I got 8m credits for a 12-kill "spec ops" mission the other day. Why would I bother with a CZ for money?

It seems to work OK for me so far. Beng a typical % complete situation it is quite possible and even likely for the bar to be completed while there are still some enemy combatants in the zone. But if you hang about for a bit you will see them all pull in their hardpoints and leave. The battle has been won by one side or the other and the losing side will withdraw.
